Whether it’s literary fiction, a memoir, or an epic of gigantic genre proportions, let’s discover the very best version of the story you want to tell and showcase your unique way of telling it.
A critical and unbiased global analysis of your project’s strengths and weaknesses—including character, plot, themes, style, and structure—along with actionable feedback you can implement in your next draft. This is not a final polish line edit; this is big picture work. A developmental edit focuses on the heart and soul of your story.
Editorial letter: single-spaced, 5-10 page analysis of the manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses (e.g. character development, structure, plot, point of view, themes, pacing, voice, worldbuilding)
Manuscript markup supporting the editorial letter through examples (may include suggestions for revision or chapter-level assessments)
60-min wrap-up zoom to discuss any questions the writer has on the editorial letter or even brainstorm potential approaches to revision
Requires a complete draft of a manuscript (minimum of 20,000 words for novella; 50,000 words for novel/memoir)
Timeline: Depending on the density of your project, 4-6 weeks from when I have your manuscript in hand.
Rates: A quote based on 2024 EFA rates will be provided after an initial complimentary conversation about your project (example: $2000 for a manuscript of 50,000 words). 50% due at the start; 50% upon delivery.
